Unexplained Sores?

Does anyone else besides 'me', just out of nowhere ever break out in a sore? Like you've injured yourself, but you haven't. Just one day your skin is perfectly fine and all of a sudden there it is…an open sore? Scabs and heals (but takes forever) as if I had injured myself. I've noticed this for a while now. People ask, "what happened", and the answer is, 'nothing'…it just appeared out of the blue.

Thank you very much everyone. Most interesting replies and very helpful. Most appreciated! And I do have two doctor appointments. One on Jan. 19 with my new Cardiologist and one on the 25th with my heart surgeon. Right after those I will call my primary doctor (who also treats me for my diabetes) and get an appointment with him as well. Again, thanks a bunch everyone!!!

yep it is common when bgs are elveated or stress level runs high at least for me. it tends to leave small scars because of the long term healing process. Talk to your dr. take care of your wounds because they can get bad small sores can turn into big problems.

That can be a sign of uncontrolled blood sugar and/or neuropathy and is something to talk to your doctor about. Particularly common on feet, near skin folds (back of the knees/elbos, etc) or anywhere that may rub on something. A lot of amputations to diabetics start out that way and progress if not taken care of. I don't mean to say you will be getting an amputation tomorrow but it's something you want to address sooner rather than later.
