Here in Wisconsin right now I can't see across the road. The snows been coming down since wenesday night and isn't due to stop anytime soon. We had a morning temp of-7 today.
They say we could have 12-15 inches of new snow by saturday.
I am really ready for spring!

The best way to start of the year with a good laugh. Thanks. I am in Central Texas, we don't get any real snow. But we did get a dusting of ice crystals last week. It lasted of a hot couple of hours, Sometimes I miss Colorado, then I remember how cold I was all the years I live there.

My daughter is stationed at Wichita Falls AFB. They had snow a couple weeks ago. Then they took a trip over New Year's to San Antonio where it was 70…how I would love that! When they got home, all the snow was gone…Now here in upstate NY…lots of snow and WICKED cold. It is kicking my fibromyalgia into high gear. I can't wait for spring!

Suzy,
Love your "wicked" cold comment! I didn't realize that was used outside Maine. My daughter was teased terribly when she said it in college which was in PA.
It is WICKED cold here too! LOL

I'm a Bostonian and I use to use "wicked" allllll the time…when I moved to IL I had to drop it due to constant laughing LOL…It still occasionally slips out…but some of those NorthEast things are just stuck i guess ;) I LOVE the coast of Maine Sal, miss the ocean very much out here :) My Mom is a Mainer…

My daughter kept telling me not to say "wicked" when she was getting teased. I do think I hardly use it now, but I don't really monitor it…maybe I use it more than I think! lol I have lived within 30 minutes of the coast all my life. Where in Maine does your mom live Deb?
Sal :)

Sal…My Mom was born in Sanford…We lived in Cape Elizabeth when I was small…and then moved to MA (NorthShore area)…I had 10 minutes to the beach all growing up…man, I so took that for granted! lol..I had a lot of family in Portland…but now my parents moved out here to IL to be near the grandkids and everyone else moved south to warmer weather…I have a few cousins and such in NH and MA still but thats about it…My brother even took off to AZ!…Talk about evacuating! But I miss the ocean very much and beautiful fall camping in VT…and so much more! :) Two-Lights is still one of my favorite places to spend a day when I'm back in the area…Its so beautiful…

I used to live in Cape Elizabeth for 6 years…many moons ago…that is where I had my first house. I grew up in Portland, but now live on the outskirts about 30 min. west of Portland. Do you go to Two Lights Lobster Shack for a fabulous meal when you are here? Yum!

Wow Sal, small world huh…I use to live on Cottage Farm Road! lol…Everyone seems to know it when I say it…but then the area isn't that huge lol…I have not been to the Lobster Shack…but it will be on my "to do" list…The last two summers I have not been back East due to traveling with my softball team…Maybe this year when we break in August for a few weeks…I want to see the Ocean! :)

We really had a late spring, less heat in the summer, but temp wise winter is making up for that! Not too much snow.

Have you ever watched a show called "Ice Road Truckers" on TLC (cable station)? THEY have something to complain about, driving over icy roads in N. Canada and Alaska. They even drive over iced over parts of the Arctic Ocean! And it's colder than I thought it could ever get! I won't complain after watching that!

The heat and humidity are so hard on me. I actually like winter and the cold on my face. We get a lot of snow here in Maine, and we are going to have a big storm tomorrow. Yesterday and today it snowed all day, but it was not a heavy snowfall…just beautiful. I do not like the ice or the shoveling. I am always ready for the snow to go away at the end of February. By then, I have had enough! Of course it doesn't always cooperate with my time frame! lol

My Dad always use to say.."I saw snow once, I don't need to see it again!" This was after moving to Florida to retire…I grew up here in NY. I must say, I wouldn't mind not having snow…the cold just drains me. My fibro is screaming and my depression is worse…Bring on Spring!

I vote with you. It is pretty and we really needed it and the cold since for last year haven't had it and some of these pests and insects needed it so not so many next year. But it has warmed up here, sun shining and melting. For how long? The forecast says more snow. Think weather just teasing us cause sun always cheers me up. Kathy
