we all have the means to make better choices as far as r health goes. u must take an active role in the choices to regain ur health. I have been managing my diabetes with food and herbs since 1990. I would'nt have it any other way. It's been a learning experience the whole way and I m much better for it.

We all deal with diabetes differently as our bodies metablolize foods with some idiosyncratic results. I consider my diabetes to be in good control eating "regular" foods with the elimination of those that increase my blood glucose levels. The labs say that I am "pre-diabtetic" but when I was diagnosed 11 years ago that definition was not commonly used. If I kept up my habits and weight I certainly would be having problems.

Being a scientist, I like to know HOW the herbs work. There is a lot of knowledge arising from folk-lore treatments not being as far-fetched as they seem.

Each of us must find what works best for us. Its wonderful
that everyone here is so willing to share their personal
journey with diabetes. I know the support and sharing is
important. So we take what we need and leave the rest.

we have made many changes as a family cause i do not want my children taking the same path as i did. we live off the grid, produce r own power and r tying r hand at raising r own meats and growing r own produce this year. we r excited about the changes. raising r own foods will b much healthier for the whole family, plus teach r children to b self sufficent.

I personally agree with you whole heartedly. Did you know that most people( the survey showed 85%!!!) would rather take a pill to control their diabetes than actually make a lifestyle change. It always makes me crazy when I hear people say; I would just die if I couldn't eat…(fill in the blank). I have managed to keep my diabetes under control through diet and exercise. No, it is not easy; but it is well worth the effort. Keep up the good work.

This may apply more aggressively to Type 2's…Type 1's are kind of stuck with a little problem :)

thanks SkipT i would rather eat much better food and exercise than take any meds. i know some people think its working for them ( and it might b right now ) but in the long run it's what will ruin ur health.

Sounds like you found something that works for you. However, many diabetics when first diagnosed, can manage their disease with diet and exercise. Then for most, pills are added. The last stop is insulin.
You didn't give any history of your diabetes, so your posting might not be taken kindly. Many of us on here would love to be able to do as you claim, but it aint gonna happen. Best of luck.

my cousin has been a diabetic since his 4th birthday he has never gotten any better on the meds he has to take, cause meds r a quick fix and meant for short term use. he is looking for herbal choice which will improve his way of life. it's going to be a long hard road but he's on that now, he's just got to climb back up the hill for better health. u should go to an get some good reading material on all kinds of diseases. I became diabetic when i was with child and it got worse till i changed a lot of things, diet (meaning the kind of food i eat), the water i drink and bath in everyday, and exercise. it;s not easy but i'm not willing to cut my life short by taking meds that will end my life any sooner than necessary. if my life is going to end it will b by natural causes not meds.
