And boy was it good! I found some wonderful black licorace made in New Zealand. It is so soft and yummy. Dumb careless me, just kept eating it cuz it tasted so good. I ate the whole bag in one day. Today my bg is up and I have the runs. I fell off the wagon but I am back on. I have to be or my gut is going to go into rebellion. I think it already is.

Have loved licorice and anise ever since I was a kid. Germans make a cookie called ?springerle? that is hard as a rock but with great anise flavor. Made to dunk in a good cup of coffee. Then as an adult I discovered, of all things, licorice ice cream. Can't eat it beyond a teaspoonful because of blood sugar, but that one teaspoonful is heavan. Sorry to go on with my food obsessions but just reading the words black licorice made my mouth water.

I walk by the chocolates on sale and yes, they are later in my pocket. Bad me. Then I HAVE to use care when I eat it. We have a candy machine here where I live. They have babyruth bars in there and they are my favorites. I usually do not have the change for the machine and that is my only hope.

That's one of my survival tools: I never carry cash. And very few vending machines will accept my debit card. By the time I go to a supermarket or convenience store, I've had time to think it over.

sorry that happened to you. I don't like licorice at all but there are some things I sometimes allow myself to have. Over the Christmas holidays, I let myself have a few things several different days especially since I have this unexplained weight loss issue. I tried not to eat too much. But I sure have to give myself some regular sweets every now and then!

I finally had to admit that my snacking on my large chocolate Hershey bar (from our church) was playing havoc with my BS, I FINALLY gave the remainder to my husband—-so sad—-hohho—really——today out shopping I just drooled over the chocolates on sale—-NO—Pat!! Don't even look or it may jump into your pocket—-so walked on by, with my head held High!! lol PR

I am on the wagon again but yerning for another bag of licorace. I think I will get it again, it was so yummy but I will try much harder not to eat the whole bag in one day!

We are all tempted by something we want to eat. I hope you are feeling better. We are all here to help each other on those
days when each of us leave the wagon. We can lift each other

Sorry Turtle. Thankfully I don't like black or red licorice. Now if it happened to be a bag of hersheys kisses, I would be in trouble. Hang in there, the wagon isn't so bad.

Haha-, Jim, "the wagon" sounds so comforting when you say it! Guess it depends on the company "on the wagon"! ha—PR

Well, at least we have a big wagon and lots of good company. When somebody falls off, there are plenty of friends extending a hand to help us back on. It's only up to us to climb back up.I just returned from grocery shopping where I had to try to ignore all those seductive chocolate bars near the checkout. I actually managed to keep my sticky fingers off them again. Another score for our side.

Oh no Turtle! So sorry you are sick today. Reminds me of when my daughter was young, and she kept asking for more and more candy from her Halloween stash she had just come home with. I kept saying, "No, you will get sick if you eat too much candy." Of course she insisted she wouldn't and kept pestering her father and me. Finally, we said go ahead eat all you want, but don't complain when you get sick. Of course she got sick, and she really doesn't eat candy to this day. She is now 28 yrs. old!! A lesson learned the hard way.
Sal :)

By the way, I love black licorice! Especially black jelly beans and black gumdrops. Yum! Don't eat many these days, but do love them. :)

That's okay Turtle, just climb back up on the wagon everything will be ok. We all get tempted but we have to sand strong. So it's ok to taste those goodies but be strong!!
