Hello- life will be full of ups and down for awhile till you get adjusted. But once you do you will see that life goes pretty much the same as before you just have to take a few extra steps each day. I am a single mom with two children and serve in the Armed forces I do not have diabetes but my 5 yr old does she was diagnosted when she was 3 after a bad allergic reaction to some medication to treat a stomach bug. I was so scared I would have to leave my job which i didnt 5 yrs to retirement yeah. we did spend 30 days in the hospital, i have had to move from Europe to the States but that only cause of insurence and pump issues. but now 2 yrs later and i know that may seem like forever but we live a normal life even planning a 12 car trip cross country with camping and all. Good luck keep ur head high and remember YOU CONTROL the diabites do not let it control you

I am glad that you finally found out for sure. I know it sucks. But try to keep a good attitude; I need you to stay upbeat to keep my spirits boosted, lol…, and remember, God doesn't close one door without opening another. Obviously He has something better in store for you. Hugs, and good luck!

I am sorry about your job situation. Is there a department within your company that you can do where driving is not done?
Good luck.

yes there are other departments and Iam checking into them, however Iam only going to have to work part time if that because Iam going to try to rekindle for the third time with my boyfriend, and for whatever reason this has brought us even closer and he doesnt want me to have to struggle just focus on school if that is what Iam wanting. so I will try that. who knows what the future brings, but for some reason we seem to be drawn back togehter again. one day at a time.

You have no idea how much a stable support system of family and friends will help you control.

I dont know what I would do without my loved ones.

Do you have a pet also?

Good luck with school.

and lets hope the 3rd time is the right time.

I am glad to see your attitude is good, let me add to those that encourage you to get further schooling, I am 64 and still enjoy learning something new. My wife tells me I just haven't decided what I want to be when I grow up!! Good luck in the New Year, with your attitude it will all work out I am sure. From your remarks I assume you have a strong faith, lean on it when things get a bit rough, revel in it when things go good.

Just knowing one way or the other must give you some peace of mind. There will be much to learn and adjustments to be made, but always remember you are the same person you were before you ever found out you had diabetes of any type. Knowledge is power…in this case power over your own health/life.
I wish you the best in the new year. Please let us know how things are going.

That's alright out with the old and in with the new. Things will work out just fine for you, a new career will be good too, something new to look forward to. Happy New Year & many more to come.

Things have a way of working out…

I'm type 1 also and complicated by several factors…but…I'm still working, driving, coaching, and doing all the things I love…Determination keeps you going…You can do anything you set your mind to!

Good luck and may 2010 find you healthy and happy! :)
