I just found out that I need to have surgery on my parathyroid because it is overactive. Has anyone else had this surgery? If so, I would be interested to know about recovery time and if you felt better after surgery. Thank you!
Sal :)

I have an UNDER ACTIVE thyroid, so can offer prayers and support, but have no knowledge of your type of surgery, but you are good spirited so should come along just fine! I have read where thyroid and diabetic problems can run together. Can anyone else add more—-hugs and best wishes! PAT R

Howdy Sal
Jem & I will be praying for you. Do you have a date & time for the surgery?

Mine had been overactive for a time [when I was in Las Vegas], but seems to have calmed down. My new Drs here haven't said anything about it, and they took me off the med for that and told me to take 1000 MG/day of Vit. D3. so far so good.

I am both glad and sorry that I don't have a "been there done that, got the T-shirt" report for you. But you do have our prayers. ~James~

Hi James,
Thank you for your prayers. That means a lot. I haven't gotten a date as yet. I just found out this much on the 23rd. I also need one more test to see if any other parathyroid glands are needing to come out as well. There are 4 altogether so I can go without some. :)

Hi James,
I hope Jem is doing well at home.
I found out this last week that my surgery isn't going to be until late in February so I have to wait a while longer.

Thank you for asking, Sal She is doing about as well as can be expected. It is a trick getting all her meds tweaked just right, but she's been living like this with her CHF/ COPD/ Kidney Disease/ Diabetes/ Lupis for about 20 years. She's a real scrapper, medically speaking. I am amazed at what she's been through and her great spirit that won't give up. She's got a lot of the medical people here amazed at her spunk and fortitude.

Please let us know when your time for surgery gets close so we know when to pray for you.
Blessings ~James~

Thank you so much James. I will let everyone know. :)
I am glad Jem is doing well. She certainly does sound like a lady who isn't giving her health issues an inch if she can help it!

Much appreciated, Sal! You're right! NOT AN INCH if she can help it. As I got to know her on the internet and the phone that was one of the things that drew me to her. And she says much the same of me. Thanks again Sal.
