These are pics of my eyes, taken during my recent Joslin Medalist Study participation. Some are of the backs of my eyeballs. Have any of you ever had this done?

I developed macular degeneration. I had a "bleed" in my left eye and they took pictures of my retina. There was a big mass there, looked like a mountain. After laser surgery and injections in the eye (not nearly as bad as it sounds) the pictures started to show this mountain shrinking. It was really fascinating to see these pictures, although I told the woman who was taking them, I'd be happier if was someone else's eye I was looking at. I was virtually blind in that eye at first, but now can even read with it, although somewhat blurry. Modern medicine is really great.

Oh, Richard! You do have a way with words!! Love it!! Very interesting photos, I had never seen such—-I still bet that my feet x-rays will out do most of you! Haha—Like I have said before, they would make excellent objects to hang in the trees for Halloween! haha-__—PR

I have had a photo taken with a machine called and Otomap (I think that's it's name), and they look very different than yours. I think they are a different kind because they are yellow, red, green, and some black. They are also interesting to look at.

I think I have. But I have not seen my results of my retinal exams. Told by the specialist that my D. Retinopathy is very mild.

When living in Las Vegas last year I had seen a presentation on D. R. a while ago put on by a specialist at a diabetes support group. It was fascinating.
