Low sugars without taking medicines

Yesterday and today, my sugars are on the low side and I have not taken my insulin shot. This is weird, even when I had a soda (mtn dew) my sugar still didn't go up. What could be causing this? Why are my sugars normal or low when i haven't taken a shot or even when i had something sweet?

I agree with Dan,

Make sure that your meter is working, and it wouldn't hurt to have a second meter on hand, so that you can double check when this happens.

Do you have a solution to test your meter to make sure it's working right?
I know my meter came with it. Let us know what you find out. Dan

usually your machine comes with a bottle of solution to test i just so happen never tested it, nor do i havine instructions on telling me how to do it properly.
i am not sure if you can use the same solution with all machines, so most likely you should order some from the manufacturer of your machine.

Unless your doctor said otherwise, those are good numbers. When are you seeing those? After eating, before eating, before bed, at night, when you wake up, something else? What type of insulin do you take?

Im with Dan Germaine, I think the meter might be faulty. I would just purchase a cheap one just to rest my mind and to be on the safe side. Keep us informed on what happens please.

be sure your meter is working, i had a bad meter once that showed all y readings much lower than they actually were and only discovered it at the doctors office after a week or so

thanks, i am going to see my doctor tomorrow and will ask her on the best way to test my machine or ask for a new machine with instructions. I know i have that blue liquid, but no instructions on how to use it.
