I have a question about my morning blood sugars. I tested my blood sugar two hours after eating last night. My blood sugar was 108. I did not snack on anything befor bed. I got up this morning and my level was 155. I take my metformin after dinner. How can I better control my morning blood sugars. HELP!!!!

155 is too high for a fasting reading but a lot of people have issues with fasting blood sugar. Try having a low carb snack that includes fat and protein and see if that helps. Some people like a couple of crackers with peanut butter (the sugar free kind that is just ground nuts). You may also find that some exercise in the evening will help.

It goes up in the morning because the body is trying to wake up and so extra sugar is pumped into your system. A reading of 155 is about right. I had readings of over 350 until I went on insulin. Just moderate your meals at dinner for carbs and you should be fine.
