Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get your morning sugar reading down. I am having a difficult time getting it below 200. I have tried alot of things and cant seem to get any to work other than not eat at night and I cant do that.

Yep. Don't eat at night.

Or try 1/2 glass of low-fat/no-fat milk. Or 1-2 oz cottage cheese.

But not eating before bed will do it.

What are you eating before bed. Remember, your calorie burn is pretty well at its lowest point for those sleep periods.

I just added bit of zing, to my peanut butter sandwich—-instead of a half of banana, I used a big slice of fairly mild ONION! It was good, I THINK! JUst a thought—-born from boredom~ haha___PR

Hiya there! Yeah, I don't seem to have this problem myself but hear a lot of people eating a light late snack helps, and yes peanut butter has been a popular one I have heard of. Good luck and keep us up to date, see how things are going for of luck hun! Hugs! Sheila

A little snack before bed helps a lot of people, making sure that you are eating breakfast and eating to your meter during the day is important as well.

Then again sometimes your liver is going to dump glucose for no apparent reason at all.

It took me almost 2 months after dx and starting my metformin before I started to get good numbers.

lately I've been in the 102 to 109 range in the morning and I'm not entirely sure why. It might all change tommorrow and I won't know why too.

That makes me feel better, Dave—-Last week I tested in the 90's, almost scared me as it was rare, but this morn it was back to 114, I did eat some candy last night, and it didn't show for awhile after I ate it——but must have kicked in the bad guys during the night—-, NO CHEATING, PAt, your body will tell tales on me! Sometimes if you have protein or a piece of meat, it will lower your BS during the night. I use peanut butter in celery, as that hits my taste buds and seems to keep my BS down too, and keeps it from getting it too low. Pat R
