it's not so much the coffee as it is what we put in it. I love coffee mate, and it has an affect on my b/s. I have been trying the sugar free coffeemate and they seem to be some better. = D

I think it all depends on what you put in it. Sugar, milk and sweetened creamers may raise your sugars. I know caffiene also affects some peoples readings as well. I personally switched to decaf and use a sugar free creamer.

Caffeine can raise blood sugar in some people, you'll have to test it to find out how it works for you.

Well, I know of a pretty good cure for NOT drinking coffee!! I worked at the hospital, sipping and chewing on cold, stagnant, thick coffee, at all hours of the day or night, over 35 years, ruined my degestive system, GERD (spelled correctly now, I hope—haha) Now, if I am careful and on a good day, I SIP a few bits from a hot, fresh cup of coffee, drink slowly and INHALE, then my tummy starts to rumble, so STOP!!!

I drank a whole pot setting on our table out on the west coast, a few years ago, in a neat restaurant! Well, at 3 am my CHEST awakened me with severe pain, could NOT move off of the side of our bed, Jack had to pack our stuff to leave the motel and head back to Idaho——-I VOMITED BILE for 3 days, then acidic, yellow D——started—-BURN!!!!! SICK!!!!!! Dear Father, I thought that I would DIE, but wouldn't——-on and on we drove as I made use of a yellow, plastic bowl I had packed for cereal—-maybe that is one reason I can't eat cereal anymore—! hah

WEAK for days, ruined our vacation—in a way—-but we made it back to Ks and I learned a very important lesson in life, to NOT overdo ANY coffee!! haha—I am now very respectful of it, have no idea about the sugar part, no need to worry now! hah__PR

am with you Elrond I like my coffee with lots of creamer and sweetner so I limit mine to no more than 2 a day,its usually only one but some times i will splurge and have one in the afternoon.

IF YOU DRINK REGULAR COFFEE YOU HAVE TO BE CAREFUL ABOUT CUANTITY, THE CAFFEINE CAN CAUSE DEHYDRATION, SO IF YOU LIKE TO HAVE SEVERAL CUPS A DAY YOU SHOULD THINK ABOUT SWTCHING TO DECAF.

Coffee by itself is fine. It's the stuff you put in it that can be a problem. If you like it black, the only problem is possibly the caffeine, and that's between you and your cardiologist. Personally, I prefer a lot of creamer and sweetener so I'm forced to limit my intake and count the carbs.

Not that I have seen, I use Splenda and non dairy creamer. I am also lactos intollerant so since I take Janument I figure I don't need anything that increases gas.
