does any one know what to do for itching? My Dr. says I am keeping my levels very well and is very pleased with my diet etc. but I have constant itching all over my body and sometimes I have scratched until it bled. Please, any solutions would be hugely appreciated.

I have the same problem. The itching is really bad at times and nothing I have tried seems to help for long. I too, have been in good control; but this , as well as neuropathy, does not seem to improve with good control.

I have been using Benidril With pretty good luck and my Dr.prescribed a cream to apply to the worse areas like creases in skin etc. I think it is called clobetesol

Try Amlactin. A lotion with no perfumes dermotoligist reccommended. I have itched for years but this seems to keep it under control. It runs about 17.00 but well worth it.

Hon, not sure about the itching… Never experienced that before. Have your doctor look at it for sure. My feet tingle at different times. I try messaging them with a special oinment foot cream.
Take care and God Bless,

If you look your skin is dry.. Myself I go from dry to oily an back to dry overnite an start to scratch, When the skin goes dry I use a absorbase oil an coat the dry parts an the itch goes away for me. But its pretty commen, an we all need oil on the skin to keep from scratching all the time.. when we go dry.. The Anti Itch lotion is very good also…

My doctor told me another anti-itch lotion and to take Benadryl. Can't tell you to take it, but it works for me. Diabetics seem to get dry skin, and that makes us itch. The lotion is Eucerin.

Thanks to all of you. I will try some of these ideas and see if they work for me. I know I have dry skin. It has always been rather dry but with the diabetes it just got so much worse. I have tried some of the anti itch creams but they didn't work.
