I struggle with the same thing. my sugars are about 30 points higher when I get up in the morning than they are all day. when I eat a smart meal about 2 hours before I go to bed, it is better in the morning. I get in trouble if I don't eat or if I eat the wrong things at night.

My fasting has always been my highest. For awhile I took my second Metformin at bedtime and it seemed to help some. When I do the small snack at bedtime, with a small amount of protein in it, that seems to help some. Continue to fight the good fight and you will find your answer.

sometimes high fasting BS when you are on pills is due to your liver putting off some of the stored sugar that is there. years ago my doc put me on metformin and this seemed to help. also do you have a snack right before you go to bed. A couple of peanutbutter crackers can help keep the liver from dumping the extra sugar. i seemed to help me at least until i got to where the pills were no longer effective. i hope this helps
