I started a discussion on weight & diabetes. How can you eat right when you are allergic to fruit& vegables? Or allergic to thing that you need to eat to lose weight? When your sugar is always low because I don"t eat alot of sweets or carbs? Do Anyone have a solution for me.

Really after thinking about your problem, fruits are not that great in diabetes. Every fruit i eat increases my blood count.
Apple, oranges, bananas sends my number to the roof, and i so love bananas. Grapes, blueberries, strawberries and more just sends my numbers to high. Wow, i like my veggies but i have to have the whole thing with them, rice, meat or bread. I can do a meat and salad and be done with it but sooner or later Mister Sugar comes calling and i give in. Wish you well.

I know of a young woman that just won't eat other foods than Cheerios and ice cream—-think there is one other food! Her parents worried about her so—of course——but she continued on HER way, married, even had a healthy, normal baby, and still eats just 2 or 3 items! So guess one can get by on little.

An older lady in one of our clubs, had an EHU lesson years ago where the only foods one needs is cabbage, bread and milk to survive and still be healthy. This was information for the women of the "dirty thirtys" the depression in those yeas, but it still applies today. As for me, I am fortunate to eat most anything without allergy problems, just the GERD etc.
Best of luck, PR

HI Denisewilis,I need something to bring my sugar up most of the time. And not just fruit I'm also allergic to alot of other foods that may help me with this. To tell you all of them I would have to post a list. My sugar have been up since I stop taking the pill(glyburide) for 4 days just to see how high I can keep it up for a while without eating to much since you have to eat so much with meds. Plus the fact I just got a tooth pull helps some. SMILE…

I never eat fruit. I only eat green leafy vegetables. I eat no carrots, peas, or potatoes. I eat a lot of meat, and I do just fine. I managed to lose over 70 lbs and keep it off as well as keeping my bg in control. It is not necessary to eat fruit. And also, I never eat anything containing corn. Corn is actually a grain, and not a vegetable. If you would like more info invite me to be you friend and I will email you back with more information.

Sounds like a good match! I don't know about food allergies, but I do break out with hives every day if I skip my meds—-am doubling them right now and still have hives!! ITCH!!! This has been going on for over 20 years, don't know why, if I double my arm at night in sleeping, this inside part breaks out, anything warm—-I hope that you can find something more definite on this site. All I can offer is support that you can find some help!! PR

Are you able to eat seeds, nuts, and grains? If so I have found a great source of nutrition ( omega-3,6,9 ,protien, fiber, phytonutrients and antioxidents.)
My sister is the real reason I joined the site, her diabetes has been out of control for a long time and now she is doing much better eating MILA. I have lost 22 pounds and my blood work is coming back great.I have been told I was pre-diabetic for years and have fought to stay healthy.
Look into it for your self. lifemax.net/mila

Im sorry I don't have a answer for you, but hopefully someone on the site does know what to tell you. I do know you have to eat a good balanced meal, and maintain some kinda exercise if you can.

Are you truly allergic to all, or do some things just not agree with you—tummy ache, bowel problem or what? I have worked in a hospital and usually an allergy is associated with hives—- I am not an expert by any means, will need help from others, but the one thing that comes to my mind is, are you eating a well balanced diet? One can't exist on just veggies or fruits anyway, but we need all sorts of goodies to maintain our bodies and energy. Meat, milk——It is possible to maintain a low weight while still eating balanced meals. Good Luck, Pat R
