There's already Good Morning afternoon or evening #21 up and running for a while now (I think around Christmas)

At the top of this page there's a tab [search discussions] when you click it type #21 into the search box and one of the results should be it. Hope to see you there soon, friend. ~james~

Well thank God we made it thru the holidays celebrating the birth of our saviour Jesus Christ and the grandkids like me to read the story of christmas, the birth of Christ, and we had a wonderful New Year's eve with firework displays and braving the cold and wind. Hope everyone starts to have a good New Year and the healings begin to get better with all diabetics or other illnesses.Take care and lol your friend Roger.

A Blessed Merry Christmas to EVERYONE on this anniversary celebration of the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ.
Jem & I attended the Christmas Eve service last night here in Hayward. She was very moved by the service. She usually can't attend worship with me, (because she is usually sick in the AM,) so it was especially meaningful to me. It was so beautiful!
Please enjoy your day. We'll be spending the day with Jem's "Bubba" and family and having our holiday meal with them.

Hi,
I had a wonderful day which started sharing the morning with my daughter who is home from Florida. Then I spent the rest of the day with my sister and her family. Very nice. My daughter and I also went to midnight mass last night which was beautiful. The choir was amazing and the church was gorgeous adorned with white lights greens and huge poinsettas of red and white. It was truly moving and what a celebration for our saviors birth!
Sal :)

We had a great day, also! Our Christmas Eve candle lighting ceremony was called off due to the ice storm—-but our oldest daughter and her hubby braved the cold and ate dinner with us! Neat!! I also fixed a ham following Harlan's instructions. Of course, I had to use what I had so no pineapple, but did use the Marischino cherries, brown sugar and clove powder, no whole cloves—-thot sure that I had some, didn't, but it was good anyway!'

Then we relived the past—-our daughter is the genelogist in our family, went thru a suitcase of her dad's old family pics, told tales—-and laughed and laughed! She told of their own church's celebration last night, she sang a solo on short notice, has a beautiful voice, sings in a trio that has toured in several states—so it was kinda like attending our own church—-but not quite——-but there is always next year—-we did get to have our Christmas program last Sun night, solos were sung and played, the little children portrayed the nativity scene, shepherds, angels and a family with a little child, portrayed Jesus—-was so sweet and special! So was fortunate in absorbing some of the festivites of the REAL reason for Christmas, Jesus' birth!! Happy New Year and Good Health to ALL!! Pat R

Sorry you missed your Christmas Eve service because of the ice Pat. It sounds like you made the best of the situation and had a fabulous time anyway. What a nice quality to be flexible and resilient when things don't go quite the way we wanted or planned. Good for you!

Thanks Pat. My Jem is feeling MUCH better today.

We're even starting to get a handle on her diabetes which HAD been running in the high 200s to over 600 in afternoon and at bedtime. {had me worried} We were already making headway in getting her numbers down, but we talked today to an ENDO Dr. and he's been very helpful. A positive day indeed. Of the 4 BG readings today only 1 over 200! [Now we're shooting for 4 of 4 under 180.]

Thanks Pat for your kind good wishes.

What initially attracted me to her, was her tremdous pluck and good humor in the face of incredible medical and other challenges. [She says much the same of me.]

Early this AM @ 7 [wed 23 Dec] Jem woke me. {she NEVER does that} She thought she was having a low BG. Wouldn't you know the meter's battery chose that exact time to quit! Frustrating! & I couldn't get MY meter to work right either! So we don't know HOW low she went {bedtime rdg: 133 {she ate a fudge rice Krispie square before retiring @ 1am] She was shakey and weak so she drank a glass of milk & ate 2 sugar cookies. @ 9:30 her BG was 242. As I write this she's snoozing on the couch.

BTW this AM I posted more photos from our March 28 '09 wedding to my profile.

Be sure to keep some glucose tab's around…or the liquid glucose…its much better then eating sugar that will spike her and them maybe even dip again…glucose tabs and follow it up with a protein source..then it will level out without a high :-/

A NEWLY WED!! I am impressed, Jayabee!! Jack and I have been married for 59 years and it is finally getting to be smoother sailing—-I was an emotional mess, and I could NOT make him over to fit the image I thought that I wanted, learned to accept HIM, also myself as we are, so hopefully the next few years will be happier—already are, I also have learned to Speak up, instead of bottling up, then being so ANGRY INSIDE!! It does have a way of spilling out onto things that have nothing to do with anything!! May your happiness continue—on and on —and on—-PR

A calm day in KS? now THAT's a rarity!

Out in that part of the country they used to have "crowbar holes" in the sides of the houses. They used to use them to get a weather report. Stick a crowbar out the hole, and if it was wet when you pulled it in it was raining, white, it was snowing and if you couldn't pull it back in [because the wind bent it over] you didn't go out that day ~ LoL
