If it is not my knee, it is my fibromyalgia and I am in constant pain. I am not having quality life. I am really depressed due to my pain. If it were not for Sunny, my dog and some of you here, I might think about throwing in the towel.

I will try to ask my dr for the savella. Right now, she is saying "nothing more for the pain". I have a few choice words in reply but I would never say them to her.

The weather has shifted again and I cannot sleep due to pain. I would rather be dead than live with this pain. Why has God forgotten me again?

Nope don't you let the devil get in your way of happiness Turtle. Life is already very short we have to make the best of what we have cause tomorrow isn't promised to us at all. Everybody has those kinda days, even me sometimes when I test my blood sugar and I've exercised extremely all week, and that number is higher than it's suppose to be hurts like heck. But I know I can't stop eating the right way and doing my exercises so I start new the next day, and just try harder to get that goal I know one day I will reach. Just wait on it the pain will get better and you will have a better day. I look forward to seeing your blogs and all your answers to other people questions and blogs here on this site. I will continue to hold you hand long distance as all your other friends here on diabetic connect. Feel better soon, and hug Sunny for me.

Thank you everyone for your support. What is savella? Do I need an rx for it?

SuzyAttendorn 2009-11-20 20:16:57 -0600 Report

yes you need a prescription for it. It is a new fibromyalgia med, just out this year I think. I have been on lyrica, gabapentin, and many other drugs, but this is the first one that has given me any relief. Take care.

Turtle, have you tried Savella for your fibromyalgia pain? I took all kinds of meds for fibro over the last 2 years, and this is the first one that actually has helped me. Not only with the pain…but with my ,mood. Talk to your dr and see if it is possible for you. Good luck, I will be thinking of you. God bless.

Hi Turtle,
hate to hear your not feeling well. You
need to talk to your Dr. about the pain, there should be something he can give you. I will keep you in my thoughts and
prayers. Dan

Hang in there Turtle. Try to find some ways to help you alleviate the pains - will warm baths help? Even if it is somwthing as easy as listening to your favorite music or reading a good book, anything to get your mind off the pain. Then, talk with your doctor and ask for help. Go in with a list of questions and show him anything you find online that could influence your doctor to give you the right meds. Good luck. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs, Betsie

Pain hurts and emotional pain (like depression) makes physical pains worse and vice versa. I have some pain but nothing like the pain my first husband lived with which was due to arthritis in his spine causing it to curve and put pressure on his heart and lungs. I try to be as brave, couragous and serene in dealing with my pain as he was with his. I try to keep my mind off the pain as much as possible and not let it control me. Some days I am more or less successful than other days. Pain is also very isolating. I don't want to talk about it and I doubt those around me really want to hear about it (that is just human nature, they can't do anything about it so it would make it hard to know or hear about the suffering). But the reality, as isolating as it is, is that none of us, including me, are really alone. I hold you close in my thoughts and hope that you experience relief from your pain however briefly.
