You hear different variations on this on. I always say around 100 to play it safe. Good luck! Hugs! Sheila

From what I understand your doc should set limets for your. If my bs is above 100 in the am I have to take an extra glipazide . The same thing at dinner.

She also would like it to be under 140 2hrs after a meal.

A1C range from 5 (which means you are "normal" Mine have been up due to illness etc The last one was 7 which for me isn't good. For someone else it might be great. I know if I go much higher she is talking about insulin. She thinks my liver is dumping sugar around 3 am and that's why my sugar is high in the am.

I don't know if I helped or confused you. Hope it is help.

Hi Judy,
Research and doctors say that the liver releases glucose early in the a.m. causing blood sugars to rise. I have the same problem and require my highest dose of insulin from 4am to 12noon @ .95 units per hour. I thought that was helpful when I found out about it :0)

Extra acid dumps about 3am too, thus waking some fearing that they have ulcers—-proof that our bodies "work" at night too, while we should be resting. Heart attacks can occur at that time of day too—-just a thought—PR
