HELLO MY FRIEND…SINCE BEING ON FLUID PILLS FOR THE PAST 10 YRS…SEVERAL TIMES MY LEVELS GOT SO LOW I HAD TERRIABLE LEG CRAMPS…AND HEART PAPUTATIONS…A SCARY FEELING ! SINCE BEING ON A SUPPLIMENT PRESCRIPTION…I HAVE'NT HAS ANOTHER LOW READING..CRAMPS AND FLUTTERS OF THE HEART ARE HISTORY…HOPE THAT HELPS YOU.

Yes, I do not personally have low potassium [in fact i must avoid foods with high potassium because of my kidneys - but that's another story], but my wife does because of her congestive heart failure [CHF] and diuretics used to control that. She takes 40 Meqs 3x/day. If she is low, she is sluggish and wants to sleep a lot. The only way to tell is a blood test .

I am on a potassium pill myself cuz I take Lasix which I loose the potassium due to it…so yeah but I am being treated for it. Hugs! Sheila

Yeah, my doctor has me taking 10 MEQ of potassium three times a day. Due to extreme congestive heart failure, I'm on 2 different diuretics and I lose a lot of potassium that way.

I use diuretics for congestive heart failure and am on an every other day supplement. A simple blood test will let you know if your potassium level is in range. Be aware that frequent hypoglycemia contributes to low potassium levels in some diabetics also.
