diabetic amyotrophy

my 56 yr old husband has just been diagnosed with this disease. i would like to know if it travels thru the body and how long does it last?
it really sucks.

Yes and no and the time it lasts will depend on your husband. It will progress if not taken care of and it will go away when taken care of. As far as I know the only way to get it is by having uncontrolled blood sugars and the only treatment is to control blood sugars. It would seem that a major overhaul of his treatment, diet and exercise routine is very much needed.
