I am a caregiver & am struggling with menu items for my dad who has diabetes, heart related issues & is on Coumadin. Can anyone offer any suggestions for breakfast items? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

I googled low carab recipes recently and found this great site: and found things like a quiche lorraine, Spinach fritta, low carb egg muffins, low carb sausage, egg and cheese muffins, and low carb breakfast cups that were also lower in fat. Most sounded really good and easy to make. Hope this helps.

Don't be afraid to think beyond traditional breakfast foods like eggs and oatmeal. Who hasn't eaten cold pizza for breakfast at one time or another and thought it was great?!!! Your Dad might enjoy a small piece of steak or chicken, for example or a crab cake or lox…Bon appetit!

Quaker Oatmeal has a lower sugar version of their Mapel and brown sugar. Its UPC 30000-26872.
carbs 24 g per package.
You can add either fruit or NSA fruit toppings/jam to the oatmeal.

Hope this helps.

My favorite is oatmeal in the mornings, and you can always add some type of fruit to his liking. Hope it helps a little!!
