I don't know about your holiday weekend, but we spent the whole weekend with extended family. That meant larger than normal meals and lots of treats.

Let's take a survey of how everyone did over the weekend in making healthy choices and managing blood sugars.

Thanks for all of your advice, suggestions, and knowledge. I have started monitoring my sugar this weekend ( starting Sat.). The highest it has been has been 267and my lowest was 166 this afternoon after lunch. Of course I know I have a long way to go.Learning to eat should not be hard but I will have to learn to not eat some of the things I really like ( I did cheat and ate some peach cobbler. Kind of a bye bye cobbler thing…lol). This feels like it is going to be sooooo hard :-(

Very well guys. 126 was my highest over the weekend and I had a yard full of people which I would have 5or6 times a year if I listen to Mr. Thomas. The biggest thing I did was drink a RC. Most of you do not know what that is. It's a old cola that I use to put peanuts in back in the day. I added water to it so it was not lethal. Hope everyone made it safely to the next day.

I did very well. I had out of town company since Thursday…in fact they just left…phew…LOL I did not fix any special foods, and ate what everyone else did, just in much smaller portions, and of course tried to stick with my 5 to 6 small meals a day. I did give in to 2 pieces of strawberry cheesecake over those 4 days…hee hee Fortunately it did not hurt my numbers too bad.
I'm very proud of all of you who had the willpower to keep in control! It seems that most of you did very well!!! And Jojo, 25 pounds…WOW, keep it up!!

Did well. Went out to eat a couple of times. Remembered to put a protein bar in my purse to eliminate the lows. Great fun, sun, music and family & friends. It's been a year since I was diagnosed a 2 and it's becoming 2nd nature to me. I am mad for mangos which are in season and really help with the sweet cravings.

I'm proud to say that I managed them very well. Only one low of 38 (I wasn't feeling well and I didn't eat as much as I thought I would) and one high of 227. The rest of my readings were between 70 and 146.

I did pretty well this weekend. All my readings were under 135. I did eat a little more than I wanted to, but luckly for me I mostly pigged out on fruits, veggies and Kashi Go Lean…LOL. I also reached my first milestone. I have lost 25 pounds since being diagnosed with T2 :) So I am very happy about that. I am happy to report that I am now back on track..and having a big salad for lunch. Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!!

Eh - not very well. I have a tough time managing my diabetes anyway. I usually post a 186-213 fasting. That's with taking 850 mg glucophage x3, 6 mg amaryl x1, 45 mg actos x1 and 50 cc levemir x1. I really don't eat that much, but when I do, my sugars go into the high 300s or low 400s. My paternal grandmother was the same way. She had a very difficult time keeping her diabetes in check. I wonder if there is something genetic about this? Any body?
