Have a 7 year old grandchild in the PICU at Denver Children's. Two weeks ago she became ill and then had a grand mal seizure that she did not bounce back from. They think she may have had H1N1 at first. She has a seizure disorder from brain damage sustained at birth.. This virus does not like pregnant women or children with neurological problems. Little one is improving some. Please get your kids vaccinated ASAP.

Hi, My daughter has had H1N1. It was before the vaccine was available and she works in a hospital in Florida. She was so sick that she called me to take her to the docs, she couldn't drive. It is nothing to fool around with. Because it was a Friday, the doc prescribed Tami-flu and steroids immediately. If she would not have had the meds she would have ended up in the ER that afternoon. It comes over you very quickly, high temp within 3-4 hours, aches, upper respitory issues.

I also take Lysine and flax seed, so that must be why I did not get it also. But I am too old to get the vaccine anyway. Good luck.

I know a bunch of people who have had it (lab verified) and most are completely fine now, one still has it though. It's really not a particularity bad strain compared to some others (bird flu comes to mind) but it is hitting a different group of people than other flu strains and starting very early.

I haven't been able to get the H1N1 injection yet, but I'm staying in a lot. The fewer people I come into contact with the better my chances to avoid the swine flu till I can get my immunization.

here in chicago we've seen a bit of it, but out in Minnesota its nuts i hear everybodddyyyss getting it.

luckily ive been avoiding it — but im not planning on getting the shot. not that i have any negative thoughts on vaccines…

just been making sure not to get overly intoxicated and taking 1000 mg of Lysine and 500 mg of echinacea in addition to my multi-vitamin and 2 table spoons of flax seed to make sure the immune system is ROCKING!

Additionally been eating lots of red chard — high in vitamin A and great for ya, drinking plenty of tea and water, garlic + onions + ginger (for keeping the system clean) and i make sure to get alot of avocado and olive oil for the good lipids that keep the body good in chicago winters!
