Hi all, I've been fighting Neuropathy for about 2 years now. It has got much worse over the pass 6 months. It's took control of my life. I can't sleep or do normal daily things. Because of the Pain!!!
I'm taking Cymbalta 60mg. at night and Gabapentin 300mg. 3 times a day and 2 at night. But it's not working. Only relief is pain meds. That I hate taking.
Anyone know of any Meds that are helping.
Thanks

Yup, Lyrica is my miracle drug for it! It REALLY helps lemme tell ya! At least for me. I am on three times daily…200mg pills. Some get a water weight gain…I am on Lasix now too…but its worth it to me…I am out of that pain, can sleep, though take sleeping pills to help that as well. Wish you luck! I also have pain pills but not for that, for my bum knee that's a killer now. ugh!! Hugs! Sheila

Thanks everyone you are all Great, God Bless You!

You all have gave me some great idea's. I'll start at the top and work my way down! I will get and try the Lipoic Acid.
I ordered the Reversing Diabetes book.
There is a product by Gold Bond. It's a foot cream, Triple Action Relief. It's in a light blue tube. Can be found at Walmart. But my pain has got to bad to use it anymore!
I've never like the affects of Pot! it cost me a chance to be a Maryland State Trooper, after I got out of the Marines.
I will talk to my doctor and have her let me try Lyrica.
She already wants me to try it.

Thank you all again, Kevin
Please post anything else you can think of.

Wow, great progress! Another thing I totally forgot, because I haven't needed it in awhile. But my holistic lady suggested doing hot foot baths with Epsom Salts and Mustard Powder. I guess it helped. Not sure it's as quick for the burning pain you can have, but the mustard opens up the veins to improve circulation, and the Epsom does I don't recall what, removes toxins? Anyway, it makes a nice tingley sensation and is especially helpful before bed.

Lyrica and codeine are what are working for me now. Neurontin drove me half crazy, felt like a zombie, but took it for years from fear of the pain. Stopped that, and put on Lyrica. I take 150 mgs. twice a day. Also, my neurologist ordered some treatments that physical therapy does called anodyne. I now have 2 of my own machines and do my treatments at home. It has helped my balance tremendously, and also some with the pain.

I have neuropathy in my feet something awful. At once point I was taking 90 vicodin a month. Neurontin and the like did not help. I started taking medical marajuana (legal in my state) and I have been pain-free since March.

My wife was using neuragen on her feet at night. It worked well, but was costly and really smelled bad. I just got her some "Foot Pain Cream". She says it takes a bit longer to take effect, but is working. It has a nice minty odor. You can check it out at:

Good luck.

See if you can find a hyperberic chamber. My husband has it from Chemo and this has worked wonders for him. Also, there are special socks that work well you can find them on the internet.

Alpha-Lipoic is powerful stuff, I love it! I started having neuropathy symptoms in my feet two years ago. Only if I'd been on my feet a long time, then sat down for a bit. But it burned so! I started using the vitamin regime I found in the book by Julian Whitaker "Reversing Diabetes". It took about 18 months, but I have not had a problem since late last winter. The book is about $14 and can be found here and on Amazon. I highly recommend it!

At the time of dx I was experiencing shooting pains in my legs and feet, numbness, circulation was poor,

one of the things that has helped me was Alpha Lipoic Acid, I take 600mg a day, some take as much as 1800mg a day. The shooting pains are gone, my feet do not ache anymore.

I started it right after diagnosis in March and within the first 4 weeks I noticed a difference.

works for me
