Recent ER Visit
I went to ER recently when I really felt bad. They had me on monitors so they were steady checking my BS and BP. BS dropped to 49; BP dropped to 79/40. The doc immediately admitted me and said he was afraid I was losing my kidneys. Thankfully, he got me over that scarey episode. Now I check BS 7 times a day.

so glad you are o.k. now. I"m like John , I am thinking something caused this to happen. Do you know what it was? I hope it never happens again. I had episodes that I probably should have gone to the ER before I was diagnosed, but they did not last long enough for me to get there. They were BS going very low I learned later.
Wow that's heavy duty! Glad no serious permanent damage.
I had a situation in Nov 2006 where I did lose kidney function for a while. I ended up in ER then ICU for a couple days total stay about 2 weeks. Remembering back I remember being on my bedroom floor for 6 days before my son found me and convinced me to go to ER. ER doc said I lost kidney function because of kidney infection. I was on dialysis for about 9 months. I have to follow a Kidney diet to keep what I have left of my kidney function.
I pray your health will remain steady and will improve.
Glad things worked out for you. Hope you stay out of the hospital and stay healthy
sorry to hear that day dremmer, thank God you are o.k., I have started watching my carb intake and walking a lot. i'm mostly bothered with high BS. excersizeing helps me to control it.
Guess I did not do the reply thing correctly. I will get it figured out. Sorry about that.
Hi Day Dreamer,
I am glad you got over that situation. I know what you are talking about with the low hitting. Mine did a few days ago and I have had trouble keeping it in normal and not dropping again since. I watch it closely.

Hi Day Dreamer,
I am so thankful you were not a Day Dreamer when it came to listening to your body and knowing something was wrong. Who knows our body better than we do !! Glad you received the care you needed, are doing better and taking care of yourself. I agree with the person who also emphasized the "what have you learned from this." I try to do that with what happens in my life and have learned a lot about myself.
I am very new here but look forward to the type of support the other members are giving you.
wow, glad you got help when you needed it. I find that the ER is not really that great a place for me. They dont take me seriously. And if you know me, I dont go to the doctors unless I am reall bad and its almost too late. Glad it worked out for you.
Hi Day Dreamer: Glad things turned out well for you. You must have been terrified; I know I would have been. Every time I have some sort of unusual episode, I automatically go into 'PANIC MODE' But, you are alright now, aren't you? Please watch that BS and take care of yourself. Everyone is here for you, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to get on here and ask questions, express your feelings/thoughts,or just vent, etc., whatever you need to do to ease your mind. Sometimes we get so frustrated, and frightened that we just need to talk to someone, anyone who is willing to listen, and we will listen to you, and maybe, just maybe, someone will have a solution or answer to one or any of your concerns. Love, and best wishes, Sue
Wow. Do you know what brought on this episode? Were you ill? Did you take your medications but forget to eat?

Glad it turned out good for you. Don't know if you were checking your levels before, or what your diet looked like. Sometimes we all need a wake-up call that makes our hair stand on end to get us on track. Keep checking and good luck to you.
Wow what a scary episode. Glad you are better and good luck keeping your sugars in line.
