To made suppplies a bit more economical I refill my resivour and reuse the same infusion set and resivour once. This way I double the amount of time I can go without refilling my supplies. I have never had problems or any infection and I know this is not reccommended. Money is tight these days

Harlen, I also have the Medtronic pump. So far I haven't had any problems with dealing with the company, not to say that I want in the future. Hope you continue, from here on out, to get a good response from these people. Hope they don't give you too much of a hassle!

Hi Harlen: I love my pump too. It does make life a whole lot easier. It's these companies that we have to deal with who creat the problems. If we could get them to be compliant then things would be great. It seems that we spend 3/4 of our time on the phone just trying get a problem straightened out.

When I get rich, LOL, I am going to check into some different pumps. There are so many out there, and so many new things coming out all the time. There is one that I would love to have. The one that attaches to your body and manages your Bs/insulin its self. No more checking, it reads your levels and takes care of everything. It is suppose to work like your pancreas would work. It sorta tricks the body into thinking that the pancreas is still working. Don't know that much about it yet. Got to do some more research on it, and others as well.

getting prescriptions filled correctly is a nightmare. I had an issue just recently myself, That is why I am getting wary of mail order. I almost prefer to have a brick and mortar pharmacy that I can walk into.

Good luck with your issues. Hope they work it out with you.

Know what you mean. It;s almost as bad as dealing with the Government. I dealt with a supplier and ins. co. today, so I hear you. Hang in there.

I'll just be honest with you, when I was pumping I had so much trouble with getting my supplies.Even though I only changed sites ever three days I ran out and they would not send me new shipments. Sometimes it was something to do with insurance and sometimes it was that their computer did not automatically refill my order. At least thats what they told me. I was also using the bad batch of infusion sets that were recalled over the summer and became very very sick because of that. There was one day my sugar reached over 600. I had no idea what was wrong with me because I had been using my pump exactly as I had been taught. Anyway after a year of dealing with Medtronic, high blood sugars for no reason and constantly getting an mild infection at each injection site I went back on shots. My sugars have actually been better. But my case is a rare one. Though several people did end up in the hospital over the bad batch of infusion sets. I hope your pumping experience works out much better than mine did.

Hi BLC, I too have the Medtronic pump, and I too was using the infusions sets that were recalled. Luckily I didn't have any problems with them. Now I am using the new ones, and am not having any better results than I did with the old ones. I also have a problem getting all the bubbles out of the reservoir. There won't be one bubble when I attach it to the pump, but a short time after that, the reservoir is full of tiny bubbles. I really don't know what to do about that. Guess I will have to contact the company and discuss it with them. And, they probably want be able to help me. Will also take it up with my endocrinologist at my next appt. I have been having lots of highs and lows,so I don't know if the pump is working correctly or not. To me, it seems that the infusion set doesn't connect tightly enough to the reservoir to keep air from getting in. Sometimes I just don't fully trust it. Thank goodness I have some insulin pens just in case this thing does not work properly. I can appreciate the fact that you wanted to go back to the injections. Believe me, I have thought about it as well.
