Ok, here I am stumped. The sign at my pharmacy says that if I want to mail order, I have to give them a 2-3 week advance notice.
My insurance doesnt allow me to pick up my insulin but once a month, and I have to wait atleast 3 weeks before I can refill. That is all fine and dandy. So how does mail order work?
I would hate to have to wait 3 weeks without insulin untill my next batch arrived.
I know they send them with cold packs in styrofoam, so im not worried about that.
But they also leave the boxes in my mail box, which is not large enough.
How about kids who steal mail just to mess with people?
Or I get mail that belongs to the person on the next street but same number as my address all the time.
How many of your trust mail order for your insulin?

I use mail order pharmacy for injectable meds. Three month supply with a refill time frame that allows receiving it timely, but no gap in my doses. So far I have had no problems with anyone messing with the delivery container (big white styrofoam container that is left on my porch). I had same concerns as you but I have been doing this for a couple of years now and no trouble. Pharmacy is Express Scripts.

My insurance company will only let my insulin come to by mail a 3mo supply fedx delivers it. When i call in for my supply they in turn tell me when it will be delivered to my home

Hi, I used to get my insulin by mail and interestingly enough my insurance company allowed me to get a three month supply by mail where I could only get a one month supply at the pharmacy. They would have a date on the order on when I was suppose to call and refill my RX so I never had trouble. I had a post office box when I did it so delivery was never an issue. I would not hestitate to do it again but since I have moved to a different state the pharmacy is so close that I just run there. Good luck with your decision.
