I have had pains in my foot for the last week, now it is moving up my leg. My foot swells some on the top but really swells alot on the bottom below my toes. The pain feels sharp and continues for hours at the time. Not consistant in timing or activites. The doctor can't find anything abnormal. I was wondering if anyone else having these issues or anybody with suggestions.

I agree with the others…if this doc knows your diabetic I'd look for a new one too. I too had the serious swelling and pain several months ago. Long store to short…my A1C was 10.2 and fluid was building up. My doc immediately had me making some lifestyle changes in both diet and medication. Just my 2 cents, but I'd be looking for answers from my doc, not just telling me there's nothing wrong.

I believe I would get a second opinion…this could be something minor or it could be something serious. What type of doctor did you go to? How long have you had the diabetes? Do you use much salt in your diet? Try cutting back on the salt and drinking lots of water. And do not stand on your feet for long periods at a time. To be safe, I would find a physician who would at least make suggestions about what I should be doing for the problem. Good luck!

Thanks for your response. I was diagnosed in April this year. My A1C was over 14. As of first of this week it was 5.9 I have changed my diet, i am exercising and less stress. I am feeling 100 percent better except for my foot at times being swolen and hurts like being jabbed. The doctor has scheduled me with an othopedic doctor.
