Two weeks ago I caught a cold, well
in a couple of days I wassw really sick. I got up Wed morn and I couldn't breath. I tyried to walk from the bedroom to the restroom and had a hard time. when I got there I had to sit for20 minutes to catch my breath. Well I finally
made to the living room and told my wife the problems I was having.
Well I made it out to the car and went to the ER to get checked out.
They started checking me out and my
o2 saturation was down to 56. They hooked me up to antibiadics and to
steroid IV's. They started drawing blood Taking x-rays and had respitory come down and administer
breating treatments. The x-rays came back and the Dr. said I had
Phemonia in my left lung, my bronkides were inflamed. After the breathing treatment I was breathing a little easier and I was moved to the I.C.U. My o2 saturation level was up to 95% now and was feeling better. The x-ray
also showed that I had some CHF but thought it was caused by my copd. With the steroids my BG's were in the 400's som they were taking readings every hour. The next 3 days everything was going fine and they did an echo-cardiagrham to see how my heart was doing. Everything cvame back fine but that night my BP shot up to 215/157. they called the Dr. and they gave me medication to bring it down. Two hours later it was bact to normal, the next nigjt it happened again and they brought it back down. Well after a week inb the hospital I was finally
rerleased with instructions to see
my lung Dr., Heart Dr., my Endo and primary. This is the sickest I have been In 4 years and I wouldn't want to go thru it agian.
