Be sure and talk w/ your doc about this. I have something like this called Restless Leg Syndrome (rls). There is a med you can take for it called requip. It is an rx. If you have rls, it is not something you will die from but you might get pretty tired due to lack of sleep.
Good luck,

Do you ever get Charlie horses as well? I found that I get dehydrated from high sugars (and just not drinking enough) plus I don't eat enough salt. Drinking a bottle of Gatorade or other sport drink every few days has eliminated them. I also get restless legs if my sugar level is on the move and needs to be checked!

I have leg pain often also. I have neuropathy. my doctor recommeds tonic water daily for leg cramps and charlie horses because it has quinine in it and thats susposed to be good for that. sometimes it works for me and sometimes it dont.I guess it depends on my daily activity.

Have you read the book "Reversing Diabetes" by Julian Whittaker? It has a review and is available on this site. I was having neuropathy problems two years ago, and started in on his vitamin regime. The point he makes is that your high sugars will drain your body of the vitamins and minerals you need to replace dead cells, and the inevitable result is neuropathy. The regime worked, I am pain free at this point! For the $14 or so, the book is well worth checking out as an option to help you.
