so I've got the flu. it stinks…lol but what has surprised me is that my sugars are staying on the normal side of things; around 110-116. With running a fever, I would have thought that they'd run higher. This is my first experience with the flu and diabetes. Is this normal???

I hope you are feeling much better now. In addition to the fluids, get plenty of rest. Don't push yourself while you are sick because it could draw things out longer. Try to just stay focused on healing yourself.

thank you for all the well wishes. This morning my fasting was 154, a bit high for me since I'm on 2x daily doses of Metformin. I will drown myself in fluids today to get those sugars down…lol Thanks for all the advice! Hope none of you get the flu, it's miserable…time to go rest again. Take care all!

the flu is not as bad a the govenment is saying. i have 4 friends that have had it an it like a bad head cold going for the chest… a friend of mine said to get some colloidal silver an take it when you feel wrong. its a natural chem that works so if you know of someone that got it have them use that an it will help. the flu itself does not kill but will set someplace else with a problem an that what kills, bs depends on the person. an what they can take for food an drink, thats what makes it go up an down…hope this help you all

When I was sick for 3-4 weeks, my bg was all over the map but, then, too, that was right after surgery. Maybe it depends on the person. Drink lots of fluids w/ electrlytes in it. That helps a lot. I hope you get well soon.

Typically mine go up before I get sick and if I am smart I realize what is coming. It is great that yours are doing fine even with a fever. You must be eating right and drinking lots of fluids. Get well soon.
