Hi, FOLKS!! I am back—again!

This time I am minus my left kidney, plus the GRAPEFRUIT sized—mass, on oxygen for awhile , now I KNOW why I had been short of breath, it was from scar tissue following so many cases of bronchitis throughout the years, Not an ongoing, acute lung problem or cancer as of now—-the pain up and under my left rib cage was my destroyed kidney from the tumor—-NOT my imagination. They still think that they got it all but it was more aggressive and larger than what they first thought, (grade 3) the tumor was EATING MY FAT, it was hungry!!

Now if THAT doesn't about make you throw up , nothing will! ha—-Fat once more has helped my body, in my way of thinking—-as at least it served a purpose in that the cancer didn't have to eat other organs——YET—-as it was feasting on my fat, that was why I was losing weight!!! NOT that I had improved my eating habits that will!! So that will follow in the days and weeks to come.

As of now, I guess that they got it all, the surgeon said that we would discuss it next week—-etc. but I FEEL so MUCH better than I have for a long time——it almost seems immaterial!!

I am so thankful for all of the calls and prayers sent my way, I am so certain that they ( my roommate) almost as old as I am, whos outcome will probably come quicker than my own! I shared with her some of our brilliant opinions, and fun stuff—she is a diabetic too, so had lots of mixed info to listen to and soak in! Then one day the poor nusrse aid took a BS reading of mine 4007!! I thought that that I was going to have to resucitate HER! But with some of the posts from this sight to Not always get excited over an unexpected reading, I felt FINE, had eaten NOTHING unusual——my room mate just calmly told her to re-check it, as the RN standing there! haha——The poor child finally a different reading 147—NOT the 400 or so—. So see, all of your input into my own limited knolwedge, helped to PREPARE me for that little surprise, but the poor aide had not had that experience , bless her heart, glad that I could help her gain more knowedge in the fickle BS world that most of us learn to deal with every day!! No knowledge is ever to be sneezed at!!

I had better rest—-I promised myself to START taking better care of myself, so today is the day! HAH

Glad to be Back!! Thanks to ALL for your phone calls, reports and knowledge, and flying Anels, they have been blessing folks all ove as the have been flittering around in our cool, Ks. BREEZES of 50 mph—ha\\Love you ALL!!

Patty Poo to you Too!! Pat R

Thanks so much for the heartfelt wishes!! I have needed them as hubby gets very hateful, BUT am glad that I have finally learned to give him a LOOK—a few words if necessary, and do NOT expect much from him, so emotionally, I have my own support group right here, plus some new friends I have made in the community. The church ladies (some—-)are still cold —-they thought that I wasn't right with God, had brought my emotional illness on myself by worrying too much about the past—-NOT—But folks think what they will—-so every kind word that comes from this site is so APPRECIATED!! Thank YOU!! Hugs to ALL, Pat R

Hip, hip, haray! You go girlfriend. I have finally taken that attitude too!

Darly 2009-09-23 22:17:41 -0500 Report

Maybe I should start with that kind of attitude,so many medical problems going on,waiting for new Doctor for 2 months now! I am talking heart problems also, A-Fib,something called pots syndrome also! Only one to follow me is my therapist who is a NP,she has been doing my vitals, which she said were not good, and listening for the A-Fib,which she said she is letting new Doctor know I may need the Holt monitor for the A-Fib…what is wrong with the medical profession now??..just crazy, guess I need to speak up like you Pat!!

Yes, but then, without "stupid" written across my forehead, how will folks know me?? hahah You reckon, "Brilliant" would get me by? At least after they all could stand upright again from bending over LAUGHING so hard! haha—And a good morning to you all, too!!! Hugs Pat R

Yea!!! You are home and everything went well. I have been thinking about you and keeping you in my prayers. Everynight I would lay down and wonder about you. I am so glad you are o.k. We missed you. I was reading about the nurse thinking you were 407. I check Troy everynight atound 3am and one night I miss read the meter. I only saw the 16 and screamed for my husband. He came flying out of the room and I shouted he is at 16. He ran down the hall and tripped over a suit case. I don't think his eyes were even open yet. Mine must not have been either because I looked back down at the meter and it said 165!! Oops!! We were relieved. Nice to hear you are home. What an ordeal. I will still keep you in my prayers.

Oh, Troy's mom!!! You just made me laugh!! Those tricky little numbers in the middle of the night, and on your own child, can be alarming!!! Then to be so sleepy too—-understand. That poor nurse aide learned an important lesson too, not to believe EVERY BS that shows out of whack, look at the patient, etc—-but, I bet she Double checks from now on, then SCREAMS! haha—but NOT FUNNY!! LOve you too!! PAt R

Oh, Turtle, I KNOW that you will understand when I say, that Corky was a bit bewildered with my coming and going, at first! She just stood out in the middle of the yard, looking at me, then she came right on inside, she usually stays outside, and sat quietly beside my chair for the longest time!! She was so SWEET!!! We do love our animals, don't we?!! Pat r

Hi Pat,
So glad to hear you are home and feeling better already! I pray you continue to heal, feel better, and that news from your testing will be good news. Take care, and don't overdo it. I have done that, and believe me, it isn't worth it. It is like going backwards a long way in your recovery.
