I'm wondering if anyone on this site knows anything about the CHIP PROGRAM.? It has been in the Rockford, IL. area for at least 10 years. I talked to a guy who has t2 diabetes After 6 weeks in the chip progran he was able to get off insulin. Cost of the program is $295.00 Not cheap but if it works it's worth it. any comment's?

I have never heard of it but it sounds great. I agree with the person who said many can come off insulin, I have known a few who have. I suppose eventually must get back on it, but any time you can go without it for a good period of time, that's great. I myself am hoping 'never' to be on insulin. I was on pills for 3 months, lost the weight, did not have all that much to lose and have kept it off for over 6 months. I exercise daily and watch what I eat daily. I do allow myself a fwe treats here and there.

It sounds like something that you can get for free right here. There is nothing really hard about coming off insulin for a number of type 2's but it does rest on if you can produce insulin on your own. If not then no program will help. If you can then low carb and exercise can very easily mean a massive reduction or elimination of all medications, including insulin. If you use your meter to figure out what foods do what to you and then optimize your diet you are more than halfway there. Throw in some exercise to increase insulin sensitivity and you are going to see some great results.

I have nothing against the program based on the description, looking at the program description it seems to be pretty good info in general, but everything it offers can be got for free with a little bit of research online.
