The dr. downloaded my meter readings and said I am doing great. She did not say anything about my highs or lows and she did not check my feet nor did she do any blood work…not even an a1c. She did a brief physical went over my meds. and had me get a flu shot.

I will call my dr office today and request that the blood work be done when I go in in 3 weeks. Thank you all for your support.

I called the office today and asked for the blood work to be done when I come in in 3 weeks. They seemed put off but scheduled the time.

Call your doctor's office today and request an A1C so you can get your blood drawn and the test results will be there when you go back in three weeks. Good luck.

I don't want to sound rude, but I think you need to speak up with your doctor and ask questions. If he/she is not giving you any answers, you need to ask them. Don't be afraid to speak up!!!

Hi Mary, yes I know. She just did not seem there in her head today. She had me make an appt. for 3 weeks so I will ask her then. I was so looking forward to getting my a1c done so I could see how I was doing according to that. She was just impressed that I have lost 22 pounds…but that is since surgery and after being so ill for so long.

Of course, I have to admit, I am somewhat of a talker, so I can't keep my mouth shut!!! LOL So when I am in my doctor's office, I always ask questions. Sometimes, I think I may talk to much!!! lol Now that I've told you my secret, promise you won't tell anyone!! ha ha

There are time my Dr. forgot to schedule my A1c at an appointment and I forget to mention it lol… So I call the office and i request one. I've never had a problem getting one scheduled when I ask for one. Maybe you could try this :)

Hi all…I sometimes forget to ask all my questions, so now I take a list with my questions, any think I might have printed-out, my list of meds, my BS diary, etc. That way, I go down the list one by one! I also get a hug from all my doctors!!! Hugs

my dr has me do the blood test every vis( every 3 mo)
this way we have many points to look at and talk about and then he sends the test to my other dr like my endo and eye dr so they can see what is going on my endo has even called when she saw something she did not like
this has been this way for 5 or more years for me !
