Hungry in the night

I usually eat one piece of toast w/ p-butter on it before bed if my bg is ok and I still wake up hungry in the night. I try not to eat then but sometimes I just cannot fall back to sleep if I do not put something good in my tummy. Like a baby needing a bottle I guess…lol.

I do often have trouble with my bg dropping quite low in the night so that is the true issue.

I am often not hungry in the mornings but very hungry at night. I have to force myself to eat in the morning but still need something before bedtime. It is not as hard since bariatric sleeve surgery but I do know the feeling. Make sure you eat 6 meals per day spread out between 8AM and 8PM to get yourself through until the following morning.

You might need a little more protein in your evening snack. Can you eat half a hard boiled egg? If not, how about a slice of turkey meat?

I do not eat eggs and I cannot eat deli meat because of the nitrates in them…it causes migraines with me.
Thanks for the ideas though.

You can now find nitrate free deli meats. Hormel is one brand. They call them naturals. You can even find nitrate free bacon and hot dogs.

I am unable to take fiber like that. I would be in the bathroom for days just from one dose. Thank you for the input though.
