I have been diabetic since 2006. As time goes on, I feel like it is becoming harder to remember things. I realized this most particularly when I was working (laid off since March). Important info that used to come to me readily seemed to just slip thru my mind. Any suggestions on how to retain/regain what I have lost? Does anyone else have this issue?

I have short term memory loss do to having a few strokes do to the fact, also had a photographic memory before I had the strokes… now yesterday and last week never happened. Driving to a particular place has to be mapped out. At least the long term memory is still available at least until al hamimer comes into effect.

Hi alive,
You are facing a terrible problem. How old are you ? I think short term memory loss usually occurs to old aged people and those who met huge accident in real life. Waiting for your reply.

the memory loss has to do with the complication of hypo/hyperglycemia unaware and the (TIA's)> mini strokes. Ive had the diabetes for 42 years now. When I hit the 37 year mark,I started to have complications.

it has to do with having the TIA's, I dont remember yesterday or the past month of what I was doing or talking about. I did keep notes ,though requires to much to keep up with on a daily basis. it's a new form of tired.

Yeah, you should practice more to remind you things. Just more attention needed to solve your problem I think.

Oh my gosh, I certainly have the same thing! It can be so frustrating and embarassing because I will forget names of people I know etc. and think of it later. It seems more like I forget the recent things but can remember the past.

I was told to play mind games like puzzles and cross words, things that work your mind. I like to play mahjong on the computer. Cara
