Muscle Twitches in Calves

I'm a type 2 diabetic and recently began getting muscle twitches all over my calves. It's barely noticeable unless I'm sitting at my desk or in my recliner. Is this a beginning symptom of diabetic neuropathy? It's not painful and the only other time I've felt it was when I was much younger and played a hard game of basketball. I've made very little change in my exercise routine except for a few more yoga poses. Has this happened to anyone else, and if so what was the cause? I was eating too many carbs for awhile but for the past month have eaten a keto diet and have lost 15 pounds. Probably wishful thinking, but I was hoping my muscles are "awakening" because of the weight loss and more controlled diet. (Don't laugh.)

It could also be magnesium deficiency, which it was for me. Magnesium supplements took care of it.

not laughing here …
certainly could be, neuropathy can affect your motor nerves.
I have severe sensory and motor neuropathy and get twitches in my legs, feet, and fingers.
the only way to be sure is to see a neurologist and have some tests done.
seldom (if ever) do we get a chance for a "do over"
but every single day we get a chance for a "do better"

Could be the beginning of neuropathy or bad circulation in the legs due to atherosclerosis. Or maybe you are missing out on some necessary minerals with the keto diet. And then it could be something else, hard to tell.
