As the title says, I am now 7 weeks out from my hernia repair and panniculectomy. I feel great!. I'm walking with very little pain and I have energy. I did have a little speed bump with the partial blockage, but it resolved quickly and didn't set me back much at all. I feel like I'm taller! I'm 20 lbs lighter and it's amazing. When I look down, there's space where there used to be ..me. At first I would think that I must look ridiculous, but when I look in the mirror, it looks just right. It's too soon to know how this will impact my kidneys and diabetes but I'm hoping for some positive results. Labs in a month. I already have less back pain. I know I said that I understood that this surgery wouldn't make me younger, but I don't feel like an old lady now; at least not so much. This has been good for my spirit AND my body. It was not an easy surgery and recovery was painful, but very much worth it. I am glad that I didn't wait a few more years though! I have been truly blessed to have two really great Drs to get me through this. Everyone over at SAMMC was just great; the Drs, the staff that took care of me during my stay…everyone. I just needed to share how good I'm feeling!
