Hi all..popping in to see if anyone has tried a sugar substitute called ..Just like sugar…I have never heard of it before but found it online as an ingrediant in a peanut butter cookie recipe. It is rather high carb..but made from chicory root so all but 2 of the carbs are from fiber…I am a stevia girl myself..but am always on the look out for new ingrediants..and we ALL know diabetics who have tried stevia and found it to be too bitter for them…thanks in advance

Thank you all..I am not going to try it..was hoping someone else had..I am a stevia chick..love it..and I dont need it for fiber..i get at least 50 grams of fiber a day @oilfreevegan…but sometimes you just want to be loaded with info..guess i will have to wait till it becomes more common to get opinions..

According to the website all carbs are non digestible. This may be good. I take Metamucil daily which is a non digestible fiber. I drink French Market coffee with chicory. I never thought chicory root was sweet. live and learn.

French Market Coffee…sounds like you might be a neighbor..I am in Metairie..BTW..whoever put chicory in coffee the first time ( and i do know the historical reason for this)..should of told people to stop when it was no longer necessary..was by the French Market a few weeks ago when I attended Mass at the Cathedral..

I haven't seen that one, but our local grocery store was advertising a new sugar substitute. I plan to try it when I'm back on my feet. Being marketed as "Tola" I think. I'll have to check on the name. Supposed to act just like sugar at 75% less caloties.
