How many diabetic people's mothers have had miscarriages and then a diabetic child? or if you are a diabetic female, have you had a miscarriage?

My mother had multiple miscarriages and then gave birth to me very prematurely. Amazing I survived. I had two children. I had an early miscarriage before carrying the second to term. It is rumored that my maternal grandmother was diabetic but was not under any form of treatment. My mother was diagnosed as diabetic in her 60's. I was diagnosed in my 50's. My daughter has had two pregnancies and no miscarriages so far and no glucose issues as yet.

I cannot imagine a woman having a miscarriage. My daughter had one after 3 months and I drove 4 hours to be with her. she was devastated. I do not think that diabetes is inherited, but I do think it tends to run in families. If so, it probably runs in families because of the diet of the parents helps to set the diet of the child, for better or for worse. A miscarriage happens because the body has determined that the fetus does not have much chance of surviving. I do not know if there is a direct correlation with a miscarriage followed by a diabetic child. I do know at least 3 women that have diabetes and have a total of 7 children, none with diabetes yet. Hope you find answers from people who know for certain. Jim
