Diabetes is a lot to manage sometimes. So many external things going on that cause ups and downs along with some frustrations.

I read today a beautiful article on how a woman lost 120 pounds and gained control of her diabetes. It is not an article on carb counting or exercise logs. It is an article on a spiritual and emotional journey she took. Not all of it pretty, but all of it connecting to her management of her diabetes, her weight and her soul. I found it very inspiring. I hope you do too.

Gabby, thanks for sharing this article. It was really inspiring. This is someone who had a lot to deal with, a lot of reasons to comfort herself with food. But she kept her eyes on the goal.

Wow! Part of her story sounds like me. Luckily though I have my wonderful husband and 2 daughters that helped inspire me when all I wanted to do was sit down and watch TV.
It's true that physical activity and upping the self challenge to do more - is powerful in maintaining found control.
I remember a year ago when my 11 yr old hugged me and excitedly said
"Mom I can put my arms all the way around you!" A powerful moment that made my journey totally worth it and helps to keep me on track.

She has found the right balance of body, mind and spirit and has become more healthy, more whole. Thanks for the link, Gabby.
