Today my husband(Tim) and I got the news that his step-father had pasted away. Bob, my husband step-dad, was a diabetic also(type 2 same as I am). He had gotten very sick recently. He was also a very stubborn man. Who did not like to follow his doctors advice concerning his health. He was only diagnosed about 5 years ago. He has gotten steady worse over the past few years. This just reafirms my belief that I need to take good care of myself or end up like he did. And I don't plan on that happening. So Tim and I will being doing everything we can to help his mom out during this time. Thank you for your support.

Hi Jip,

Sorry I didn't read this earlier… I went out of town to bury my husband's uncle and must have missed this.

Please know your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

I am sorry to hear of your loss. I agree that this should be a lesson to all that you should take care of yourself and do whatever is necessary to keep your health in check. Diabeties is not something to mess with and not treat. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

Jipwhip. I am so sorry for the loss of Bob. It is scary enough to share an illness with someone, and to see them decline in health, then when they pass, it can really add to the grief you are feeling. It sounds like you know you need to take care of yourself, and will, so let go of the fear so you can grieve as you need…and know your your "other family out here" are with you in thought and spirit. Hugs, S2
