I can take my medication and eat right and my BS will jump way up, but if I don't eat lunch by the time I go home it will be leveled out. I eat dinner and take my meds and it jumps again. Any suggestions?? I take Glucovance 2x a day.
Thanx!!

My week stay at the hospital had to be done without my metformin, as it affects the kidneys! I did not realize that, but—-The nurses watched my BS carefully, had a drug on hand(??) in case it went too high. I ate pretty good when I got to feeling better, sure wasn't exercising, was there to mostly REST! ha—sorry, with all of the house work still staring me in the face, I find that funny!

They did send me a 2000 ADA diet, and the amount of food would have choked a harvest worker!! My—-especially since I have cut back—they said that I was eating about 25% of my food. Yet the highest my BS got was 201, they let it ride, and sure enough, it came back down on its own, for whatever reason—don't ask me! My fasting ran 125 to 136 or so—not too bad—

What I am wondering is how much this malignant kidney has affected my BS to start with?? They said that this growth had been growing for some time, I became a true diabetic about 3 years ago, after my second knee replacement—-???stress??? This aching and drawing down my left side started a few years ago—-??

So for now, I am on nothing—-still watch what I eat tho—exercise is minimal—my BS after church, little breakfast and ONE piece of fudge from church, was 136——so ate mostly green beans, one weiner with NO condiments—but butter on WHITE potatoes??! So will check in a bit to see if that sent it over the top—-it has in the past, at least for me—-190, which was high for me—so will see. But to me, this just shows that NOTHING is certain you do NOT always respond as a graph shows, it takes TIME___-we are human, not paper dolls—-it takes time for all of our "goodies" to circulate, which makes sense to me.

This just shows to me that NUMBERS are NOT RIGID, that they can fluctuate without you having a finger or toe fall off at that moment. Best Wishes to all as you make your own way through this tricky, unpredicatable disease, diabetis! PR

YOU DIDNT SAY WHAT YOUR NUMBERS WERE? BUT IF THEY ARE BETWEEN 80 AN 160 THEN YOU ARE IN GOOD SHAPE, KEEP A RECORD OF WHEN YOU TAKE YOUR BS AN SHOW IT TO YOUR DOC. THE RECORDS SHOULD SHOW DATE TIME AN YOUR BS AN IF YOU HAVE A BLOOD PRESURE KIT INCLUDE THAT ONCE A DAY. IF YOU WANT THE DOC TO WORK WITH YOU, YOU NEED TO DO THIS, OTHER WISE THE DOC CAN NOT TELL IF YOUR MEDS ARE DOING THE JOB..
