If you want to understand how they work, go to the websites for the manufacturers for their glossy reviews. If you want to compare how they work against each other, Google "Compare Insulin Pumps" and review a few of those sites (be sure they are NOT the ones posted by the manufacturers!). Once you have learned the terminology and think you are tuning in to one or two pumps, post a message here and on other diabetes boards, ask people if they use one and how they like it. I started with the Cozmo, which is now discontinuted, and liked it a lot. But the Medtronic Minimed allows me to connect with a continuous glucose monitor (for a steep price), which is helping me identify my bG patterns and get a better handle on them, usually.

It depends on what you are looking for. The manufactures sites give a lot of info about their pump system and message boards like this one usually have a lot of pump users who can give you info on what it's like to live with a pump. www.diabetes.org has message boards with a lot of pumpers and there are a number of pumpers here.
