Hi msann, I hear a lot of similar stories from my clients. It's a shame what many people are going through to get adequate health care. Hope you are back on track.

When I was on meds/insulin, I was able to get it through the VA. I paid $9 per prescription and got the paraphernalia for free. Now, I've worked hard to get off meds so I have no costs which helps my budget a lot.

I've had to change a med I was doing well with because my ins made it non-formulary and my ins doesn't cover any weight loss aids. They switched everyone to Abbot Freestyle meters. You can still get strips for the other meters, but it will cost 3x as much. It's a good meter, but one should be able to choose. I've been very lucky with my ins over all though.

Yes, fortunately I am not on insulin yet,but my co-pay is increased considerably. You can thank President DT for that. He could care less.
I don't know what they expect people to do who are on limited funds… By the way; I have Obamacare for extra help; my meds only cost me $1.30 each copay. I pay $20.00 per month for my healthcare insurance, which is based on my disability income.

Oh man, I am sorry you have been without. That is awful that it has to be that way. Have you talked to your doctor about prescribing alternatives in those time? The insulin I get is $25 per vial without insurance at Walmart. I have missed doses from time to time, but going weeks without it would scare me. I am glad you are doing better now.

Good hear your feeling better!
Obama (sham) care. Shame politics comes before our health. Health care is a party project, not a concern of our politicians. Shame on them

Glad you're on your meds again and feeling better I hope! Obamacare has caused our premiums and deductibles to skyrocket. I personally know no one that it has helped. We need a free market solution and to be able to buy across state lines.

Insurance companies are the scourge of the earth. Them and drug companies. We should never have to be without life saving medicine. It's a disgrace. Ask your pharmacist and Doctor about any emergency plans. I think there are several out there.

Hey, Ms. Ann! sorry you have had this fight to stay healthy. I sure hope it gets better for you, 138 was probably so good to see! Take care, and hugs-Deborah

Sorry you had to do without meds for a bit. So far I have had no issues with my insurance but I am on oral meds and get them directly from the insurance company pharmacy. I'm hoping that things will not change down the road.

Glad you were able to find getting your insulin so much cheaper. I am sure it is a relief.
