A week from Saturday my bike and I will be at Wharton, TX HS for the start of the ride. I signed up for the 55 mile ride but they changed the route to make it safer and is now 59 miles. That's 3 miles shy of a metric century (100 km).

Things have gotten busy and I haven't been able to do really long rides. Monday I did 50 miles. I was pretty wasted at the end, but it was very hot towards the end near 100. I drank all my water, about 1/2 gallon. I stopped at a story and bought a bottle of water. I didn't notice that it was not plain water. It was lime flavored which was OK but it was carbonated which is not. UGH!

One thing, the Tour ride is supported and there will be rest stops where food and water are available.

If anyone is interested in donating here's the link to my page:

HA! HA! My bad. love bugs gotta love 'em. I posted that link in a discussion on the lack of love bugs this year in the south. Someone thought they were lady bugs.
Anyway this is the proper link:

Perfect. Done and donated. Good luck on your event. I hope it's a little cooler for you.

I have not seen a lot of love bugs here either. Though enough to decorate my front bumper. LOL

I thank you, Gabby, for all who will be helped. I sent you a thank you through the ADA's website, but I don't trust it. Their website is as bad or worse than their dietary advice if you can believe it.

Anyway, If you get it, please let me know by posting a reply here. I sent one to my son, but he never got it.

I'm excited and feel like I'm ready. I road a total of 170 miles last week, with one of 50 and one of 58 miles. The forecast is for clear skies, with a temp of 62 at the start and 79 around when I should finish. That will be much nicer than my 2 long rides last week. This week I am just taking what I call recovery rides of about an hour without a lot of strain. My 58 mile ride had about twice the elevation gained as the tour ride so it "should" be easier.

Yes, I did get your thank you note. (I responded before I actually read it) And I wish to thank you for your very kind words....it means a lot to me.

You will do great!
