Hello,
Oh let me count the ways…that diabetes complicates. I have been diabetic for 15 years and I am starting to have problems. I recently had blood vesels in the back of my eye leaking. The remedy was an injection of Kenalog in the eye. The fear and aprehension were much worse than the reality. I was so pleased as my vision cleared and all seemed well. I ahve had redness and pressure in that same eye now for a week. Going to Dr, tomorrow. I remain hopefull.
welcome, I look forward to getting to know you.

Greetings. I just joined this past week and I can see the potential for this site being a truly helpful resource. I've been a diabetic for over 25 years and even though I have never ignored my diabetes, I haven't always taken the best care of myself. I am looking forward to getting lots of info and motivation.

Fretubetcha—Here's a few of the horrible things that I've been doing to control my blood sugar!! I rarely eat processed foods. No pizza, no pasta, none of the good stuff! My diet consists of mostly vegetables in the form of super salads ( mushrooms, some cheeses, all types of veges, bean sprouts, tofu, chicken and some meat etc and some good salad dressings. I've been exercising quite a bit also. I ride a bike 60 to 100 milles a week and I hope to increase the mileage in due time!!! Alot of work and torture, but it works lol :-) . Actually I enjoy riding with a bike club. I've done much experimentation with foods and finally found the only foods that definitely do not spike my blood sugar! They're actually 100% safe, all types of lettuce with no salad dressing!!! lol Hope I haven't depressed you:-) On a serious note, I hope you can relate to some of the things that have been helping me. Always willing to share!!!
