Ever since John Crowley posted his wonderful idea for a discussion called "Two Out Of 3 Diabetics Don't Follow Recommended Diet," I've been looking for some artocles to post to help us all with our DIET PLANS.

While the answer is different for everyone, these articles will provide a helpful starting point. They are all posted in the *News & Articles* section of this site, but I have provided the links for each article to save time. Hope this helps everyone with questions. The title of the articles and their links are below.

I'm glad the information has been useful to you. Let me know if you need any more articles concerning diet. I also have some great online shops where one can buy low carb products and even have low carb bread shipped to you. It is hard for me to give up bread of any kind so I always order the low carb stuff, even bagels.

my concern is finding a diet or dietician that is familiar with diabetes and interstitial cystitis together. i cant find a diet that involves the restrictions of both problems. im soooo very frustrated.

Avera 2009-08-21 21:50:07 -0500 Report

Sometimes it is hard to find a doctor to treat us in the areas that we need. There is an oragnization online that has information concerning your interstitial cystitis.

The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) conducts and supports basic and clinical research on many of the most serious diseases affecting public health.

You can go to thier site, and go to the bottom of the home page and contact them. Just ask them if they can recommend a doctor in your area that treats both. I did this one time when I was looking for a specialist.

You can also calL them. The number is on the home page at the bottom. You can also just use regular mail and write to them. Here is the address:

I'm very glad that you can use this information. I use these sites for myself. You will find that when you visit the pages, there will be other information that will help you there. Lots of the recipes on our Diabetic Connect site have been posted with help from these pages. The low carb desserts with 1 & 2 carbs are wonderful and easy.

Thanks for the links.

I am having a difficult time getting my sugars back into control sfter vacation. I guess it is time to start the food journal.

Avera 2009-08-17 21:46:58 -0500 Report

Every time I go on vacation, I seem to have the same problem. This last time when I went to the beach, I found this awesome Low Carb Bakery in a strip mall. I was able to buy some excellent desserts that kept me more than happy. lol So this time I stayed on my diet.
