I'll be getting trained on my continuous monitor on Monday. Not looking forward to planting that thing in my side, but I will certainly appreciated the information it gives me.

I have found a number of "non-medical" sites and a few acquaintances that most people are able to wear the sensor for 6-9 days, versus the 3 days given by Medtronics. I even found a study done by the University of Checkoslovakia (pardon spelling) verifying there were no unusual side effects!

Have any of the CGMS users here had experience with pushing their sensors beyond the three days? We don't have insurance, so I'm anxious to get the most out of these pricey gadgets that I can!

Dexcom 7 is FDA approved for 7 days as standard. I have heard of people using the sensor for a lot longer than that.
