I just had a AC1 test,it had increased from 7.1 to 7.3, before my my metformin doseage was 1500mg daily, after it was increased to 2500mg,does this seem like a large increase for only a .2 increase in my AC1 test?.

Are you doing any type of diet control? I was able to get off the metformin ( I have been drug free for a year now) simply by low carbing. I follow the Dr. Bernstein program.

I think you will confirm when you talk to your health care providers that the goal of your medication is to lower your A1C.
