I was told if I drink blueberry leaf tea daily it would eventually cure my diabetes or eventually get me off of any medication. Is this true?

I have tried drinking the blueberry leaf tea. If your BS is high, it will temporarily lower it.

I am going to try and locate some as I love drinks—non-alcoholic, that is. Even if it does not help it will help break the boredom of water, Thanks, PR

No cure for diabetes

I believe though that some of the supplements and vitamins can help you with improving insulin sensitivity and reversing te impact of nueropathy. Others can help with circulation and blood pressure, raising your HDL etc.

There are a lot of snake oil salesmen out there though trying to sell these concoctions of supplements for a lot of money. Best to do your own research.

An interesting concept that I hadn't heard of. Guess it is like high BP, once it goes too high, it seems that it has a tendency to whip up there again, when stressed or such!

HOWEVER, while I WORKED all hours at our hospital, sending out ambulances, getting lab and x-ray together for the incoming crisis, working 6 phones at the same time—intermittently, of course, carrying out Code Blues, mock disasters etc, it was AFTER 20 yrs, when I RETIRED that I started having problems with HIGH BPetc—exhaustion etc, while I was BUSY, it ran low, so go figure!! Then the diabetis started to come up gradually, off and on, until I had my second knee replaced—then BS also became a daily concern!''TO ME, this never made sense, and I was MAD to think that after all of those years, I then fell apart!! Still doesn't fit into my OWN concept of poor health—-but have finally accepted my diet limitations and now, it isn't so bad, and I am learning to live with it, plus I AM FINALLY LOSING WEIGHT!!

I guess as we age, that we have to start taking better care of ourselves in order to have some peace of mind and body in our Golden Years!! I REALIZE that NOT ALL are there yet, but just my thoughts—-PR

Blueberries and Bilberries are good for helping keep your vision. Blueberry tea I have NOT heard about anywhere. My husband has had great success reversing his Type 2 with diet and vitamins from a book we have called "Reversing Diabetes", and it seems to have reversed the neuropathy in my feet as well. The Type 2 is not gone, but it is under control now without medication. YOu can find it in Amazon if you're interested, by Dr. Julian Whitaker.

I'll check this out on Amazon! Thanks for the post. One thing that is a must is the exercise. That's soooo hard to do when you work and stand on your feet all night long. It seems the last thing that my sore feet want to do is get on the treadmill or into walking shoes.

I hear ya there, been there, done that. My husband sits all day, and if he does 10-15 minutes on his reclining exercise bike (might be something you could check out) after a big meal, it makes a huge difference. It's a short burst, but gets the circulation going enough to make an impact.

Hi..I was told by my doctor there was no cure, but you can live a normal life by keeping your diabetes down to a normal point level. Barbara

Simple answer, no cure. No magic bullet, no ancient secret that drug companies are trying to cover up, no wonder diet that will cure you, just a lot of people who either want to take your money or simply don't fully understand diabetes or what the word cure means.

Drinking blueberry leaf tea likely wont harm anything but it wont cure you and is unlikely to help you get of medication. Diet and exercise (assuming type 2) are your best weapons to get of medication but even then, not everyone is physically able to.

Kdroberts is right, there is no cure for diabetes. Just a lot of people who don't understand or want to take your money away from you.

Yes, diet and exercise might help you get off medication, if you are able to do diet and exercise. Just don't give up on trying. And just take one day at a time and you will get through this.
